In 2012, Zach Bellas would release his debut solo album ‘Whatever You Want’ which would be quickly followed up by its stripped-down acoustic-based sister album ‘Shoot The Messenger’

The two albums were largely recorded during the same sessions at Waterford Digital in Annapolis, Maryland and both feature a host of Washington, DC, and Baltimore based musicians as Zach did not have an official band at the time.

What makes Shoot The Messenger special is it’s a very bare-bones album with limited instrumentation which sets it in stark contrast with the very involved tracks found on Whatever You Want.
